In Home Therapy 

 

PHS provides therapy at home to speed recovery from illness, surgery or injury. Services include physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

 

Home therapy plays an important role in allowing patients to increase productivity and regain independence with daily activities, in a convenient and comfortable setting, while allowing families to be closely involved in the rehabilitation process.

Physical Therapy:

Physical therapy helps individuals regain strength, range of motion and independence and may be appropriate after:

 

  • A fall
  • Back pain
  • Difficulty walking
  • Joint pain
  • Joint replacement surgery

Occupational Therapy:

Occupational therapy concentrates on helping patients regain day to day skills such as bathing, dressing and eating. It may be appropriate after:

 

  • A stroke
  • A heart attack
  • Joint pain in hands, arms or shoulders
  • Difficulty dressing 
  • Difficulty bathing
  • Difficulty with meals
  • Poor vision
  • Declining memory
  • Decline in function
  • Hospitalization

Speech Therapy:

Speech therapy focuses on the ability to understand words and the ability to use words to express yourself, and may help individuals who suffer from: 

 

  • A stroke
  • A heart attack
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Difficulty speaking
